Wes had his ah ha moment with cold brew coffee in 2010 when a friend convinced him to try an iced latte made with cold brew concentrate. At the time, Wes owned a café in Anchorage, AK and had been serving iced latte drinks by using hot espresso shots – the standard method at that time for this type of drink. Wes could see that cold brew would have a huge impact in the coffee industry and there was no turning back.

Since that moment, Wes has helped numerous clients develop cold brew products including shelf stable bottled cold brew coffee, canned nitro cold brew coffee and shelf stable cold brew bag-in-box concentrate. His accumulated coffee knowledge has led him to share what he has learned in the classroom. Wes has taught more than 500 baristas’ during his career. Wes is a contributor for the Barista and Coffee Academy of Asia, specializing in cold brew instruction. Wes’s deep knowledge of specialty coffee equipment extends from traditional hot brewing and espresso machines to commercial size cold coffee concentrate systems, café to industrial scale production.

As a proud member of the unofficial Cold Pro Network, Wes helps startups and growing businesses with their cold brew challenges regardless of size. He has nearly 20 years of combined experience in the specialty coffee world. Wes has a long history of working in Asia and the US Pacific Northwest.
